Concrete tests are necessary during the production of this material to determine its grade, degree of water permeability, frost resistance, density and other characteristics that have a significant impact on its operational properties and, accordingly, the quality of coatings, structures and other end products created on its basis.
Mineral binders are finely dispersed powdery materials that, when mixed with water (less often with aqueous solutions of salts), form a plastic easily formed mass (astringent dough), gradually turning into a stone—like state. Binders are usually used as the main component of concretes and mortars. Therefore, some tests of binders are carried out with fillers, simulating their work in concrete (mortar).
